About Arc Browser
Arc Browser
Arc is a completely reimagined web browser from The Browser Company that rethinks tab management, window organization, and how you interact with the web. Built on Chromium, Arc introduces concepts like vertical tab organization, Spaces for context switching, split-view browsing, and powerful customization to reduce tab chaos and increase focused productivity.
Best For: Power users drowning in browser tabs who want better organization, context switching between work/personal browsing, and are willing to learn new browsing paradigms.
Key Features
How does Arc handle tab organization differently?
Vertical sidebar shows all tabs with favicons and titles (easier scanning than horizontal). Pinned tabs stay permanent across sessions. Today tabs auto-archive after 12 hours (clears tab clutter). Folders group related tabs. Split View shows multiple tabs simultaneously side-by-side. Command bar (Cmd+T) for instant tab/bookmark search.
What are Spaces and why are they useful?
Separate browsing contexts for different roles or projects. Each Space has its own tabs, favorites, and theme. Switch between Work, Personal, Research, etc. with keyboard shortcut. Prevents context bleeding (work tabs don't clutter personal browsing). Different profiles and logins per Space.
Can Arc replace multiple browsers or profiles?
Multiple profiles within single browser window. Each profile has separate cookies, cache, history. Chrome extension compatibility (Chromium-based). Import bookmarks and data from other browsers. Sync across Mac devices via iCloud. Windows version in development.
What unique productivity features does Arc add?
Easels create shareable canvases with websites, notes, and media. Boosts customize any website with CSS and JavaScript. Note-taking directly in sidebar. Picture-in-picture for any tab. Library shows history, downloads, notes in unified view. Command palette for everything.
